South Coast, by Nathan Lowell, is the first story in the Shaman's Tales. It tells the story of Otto Krugg and occurs prior to Quarter Share. It explores the world of the South Coast Shaman. A sequel to this book will be Cape Grace and will fill in the back story of Sarah Krugg before she joins the crew of the Lois McKendrick in Half Share.


This is the fourth book of the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper Series.

The first line is "All happy families are similar; all unhappy families are unhappy in their own way," is from Anna Karennina.

All of the Golden Age books begin with a "stolen" first line. The line serves as an organizing idea for the novel.
