Paul Benjamin Auster (born February 3, 1947, Newark, New Jersey) is an author known for works which blend absurdism and crime fiction, e.g. The New York Trilogy (1987), Moon Palace (1989) and The Brooklyn Follies (2005). Postmodernism shows heavily in his novels.
