Half Share, by Nathan Lowell, continues the story of 18-year-old Ishmael Wang, a crewman on a merchant spaceship. At the beginning of the book he is promoted from a quarter share worker in the ship's galley to a half share worker in Environmental. (The terms quarter share and half share refer to how much of the ship's profits someone receives in addition to their regular pay.)
In Half Share, Ishmael learns his new job in Environmental, but also begins to think about his identity and future goals. Due to a few scenes exploring his sexual identity, this book may not be suitable for younger readers.

This is the second book in the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper series.
