'The Host is a 2008 science fiction/romance novel by Stephenie Meyer. The novel introduces an alien race, called Souls, which takes over the Earth and its inhabitants. One Soul experiences trouble when the mind of her human host refuses to cooperate with her takeover.
The novel has been adapted as a movie which is due to be released in 2013.
